Microsoft Office Specialist is a performance-based certification program that validates skills using Microsoft Office products as follows:

The Microsoft Office Specialist certification program provides computer program literacy, measures proficiency, and identifies opportunities for skills enhancement using business desktop computing products needed to work more productively and efficiently.  Microsoft Office Specialist certification satisfies a client's need for a qualitative assessment of a consultant's skills.

Microsoft currently issues approximately 20,000 certificates per month.  Recently a milestone in the Microsoft Office Specialist program, which launched in 1997, has been reached:  over 500,000 certificates issued.  This validates the value and popularity of the Microsoft Office Specialist certification program.

Dale Rainwater holds the Microsoft Office Specialist Master certification, which is the highest level credential you can earn in the Microsoft Office Specialist program.  Currently, Dale Rainwater holds this designation for Microsoft Office xp, Microsoft Office 2000 and Microsoft Office 97.  A Microsoft Office Specialist Master demonstrates a breadth of productivity skills on key desktop programs by passing a combination of core and expert Microsoft Office Specialist exams developed from products of a Microsoft Office suite.  

In addition, Dale Rainwater is a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor (MMI) in Microsoft Office xp, Microsoft Office 2000 and Microsoft Office 97.
